    Re: Insurgent Load out?

The OD kit is Soviet RD-54 webbing used by VDV Airbourne troops. Pretty rare now, especially in that condition

          Re: Insurgent Load out?

We had a whole team dressed up as Mujahadin at the last 'Black Gold' cold war event. I think all the pics are on my other machine though. I'll try and dig them out.

              Re: Insurgent Load out?

the AKSU btw was considered very much a 'trophy gun' by the Mujahedin. As it meant you had to have taken out a tank to have got one.

When the Russians first started using 5.45 ammo the afghans thought they were 'poisoned bullet'... basically the massive internal shredding the tumbling buller caused coupled with near non existent medical skills and appalling first aid drills meant that most wounds became infected.

The IRA btw as well as using the US supplied 'widowmakers' as a weapon of choice used a hell of a lot of WWII thompsons. Loads were bought on the black market after WWII for an IRA uprising like the Easter Uprising but it never happened so they stockpiled them and used them in the 70s and 80s

A mate of mine was engaged in a contact by a soviet dushka HMG once and they also had a fair few US supplied M60s.

Necro post! Kinda - it is the most suitable spot for this loadout pic though.

I'm interested in doing more a Chechen insurgent style load out or it could be more of militarised insurgent/guerilla fighter look. Just wondering what you guys think.
Sorry for reviving this thread by the way.

chechen kit is largely 'rus fed' kit but a bit more random.

Try mixing older soviet kit like KLMK oversuit with 2000s era stuff like SPLAV chest rigs or ANA cloth AK vests.
