Buying a RIF without UKARA

I was just wondering what course of action will be taken if someone buys a RIF from zeroneairsoft without declaring that they have a UKARA number or forgot to add a UKARA number? I am aware that it is illegal to buy a RIF without a UKARA number. I don't want this thread turning into a childish debate like most other threads. Thanks

It's not illegal to buy without UKARA. All you need is a valid defence, be that UKARA a site membership, or a re-enactors permit. It's in violation to the VCRA act to sell to someone without a defence though.

Provided you mean the shop and not the forums they wouldn't ship the gun out until they have confirmed confirmation of your defence.

Some retailers even charge you about a tenner for trying to buy a RIF without a defence.

As long as you're over 18, you don't need any form of 'defence' to buy or attempt to buy a RIF.

I think he's talking about the fact that it's not down to the buyer to prove their defence for buying an RIF, it's down to the seller to make sure of that, I.E checking for a UKARA number or asking for a deceleration of another form of defence. It it not illegal to buy without a valid defence, it is illegal to sell to someone who doesn't have a defence. At least that's how i understand it.

UKARA is not a legal requirement.
Its a group of retailers who in theory got together to make RIFs a viable option in the eyes of the government.

Nah , as has been stated you just need a valid defence , UKARA is just so the shops don't have to do any work to take your money off you ! Well sending an email to your site to ask if your a member is SO much hard work !
