  • help restaining my ak furniture

ive got real steel akm furniture which is pretty much bare wood in colour, what wood stain should i use on it?

(i prefer the brownish furniture to the classic red, but both are options)

i dont like the look of high gloss finishes so would a satin finish be a good compromise? or would even a matt finish be ok?

Rite dye , there is a few guides on youtube. Just paint it on then seal it in , its great if you are really impatient.

Depends what colour you want, just head to B&Q or Wickes and take a look at their wood stains.

I went for Ronseal Walnut stain for my Thompson.

        1. Give your existing wood kit a good keying with medium grade sand paper to open up the pores a bit.
        2. Wipe off any dust and start with a cloth and the stain, working with the grain until piece is covered.
        3. Give it a wee while to dry and repeat until dark enough.
        4. For extra protection and a satin finish, soak in Boiled Linseed oil over night/couple of days.
        5. Wipe off any excess oil.
        6. Enjoy
