  • The Tokyo Marui M4 GBB has finally released

    http://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/product...hinegun/409PR/

It is now available at some Hong Kong online stores.

In terms of mechanical realisticity isn't as satisfying as the traditional WA system but performance wise it seems excellent.
The body is metal but, finishing is fine but not the best.

There's actually something very surprising about that page. There's more focus on English writing and the video explanation is spoken in English.

Could this perhaps mean Tokyo Marui is recognising customers beyond Japan? That could be a big deal.

There's already a review out, it's in Japanese so I don't really understand most of it but there's a bit of shooting dotted around and it looks to be reasonably impressive.

        Just first impressions though.

Oooh, nevermind. There's what looks like pretty harsh cooldown and possibly the follower getting stuck inside the mag... Doesn't look nearly as promising as I'd hoped. Still the bolt catch is an interesting idea.

It would be great to get an idea on the fps, U.K. Site legal without modifications would be superb.

I guess I was wrong about the cooldown, that looks pretty good

Also, notice the silent fill valve on the magazine. Marui finally ditching the somewhat wastefully designed old ones.

It's a TM, so it'll be sub 0.98J if run on the gas it was designed to run on (134a). Fun and games will commence once people start to run them on Propane/Green Gas, if the recent M870 is anything to go by :-/

*** **** has their review out now. Superb accuracy and 370fps on top gas.

I have been looking for a modern m4 gbbr platform to skirmish with but honestly GHK looks to be a winner here.

Re: The Tokyo Marui M4 GBB has finally released

The RWA review came out as both GHK and TM being identical winners, so ultimately it will come down to personal preference. i know tm guns are designed for performance and accuracy above all else so my personal preference if i was to get a gbbr would be the tm, i have no GBBR guns so im not biased to one i already own, though generally i do prefer tm guns. Again though, its brand new tech so no one has really done any long term testing in the field to truely say for sure, it could continually break, or it could out right dominate. Its really too soon to say which is the "best" but its clearly got good enough reviews to put it in the top 1 - 2 position out of a lot of other guns.

As mentioned in the RWA review , tm's GBB guns are getting continually revamped internally for running stronger gas in there more recent additions, but its not official as that's illegal in JP. i think the clear thought about skirmish-ability in its bolt design over sound and looks will win out long term. And its not an expensive bit of kit either.

                          Actual quote from the video:

"Tokyo Marui technology has delivered the final solution"

                          Oh dear hahaha

                            TM fanboys out in force.

In all seriousness though, as good as the performance and accuracy looks, the fact remains TM are very late to the party with a GBBR, especially to start with a ubiqitous M4 derivative. Especially when you hear rumours that it isn't capable with some RS external parts like WE/GHK, etc.

Don't understand why they've overengineered a bolt catch solution either, just make it of decent material.

I'm a fan of TM but have to say they've missed the boat with the M4 MWS. Only time will tell as to how well the mechanisms hold up to skirmish abuse. Would have liked to see something a bit different from them but I suppose they are catering to the domestic Japanese market.
