  • Grenades! TRMR E4 X1, advice, tips, primers?

I'm looking to buy the TRMR E4 X1 grenade as I've seen it use and I've just fallen in love (unless there's an alternative that's better, I'm not getting monogamous with my grenades) I just have a few questions before I dive in for one.

Does anyone own one and know how easy to use they are? Easy to reload?

How tough to get hold of are the primers?

    Which primer is best? 9mm?

Very easy to prime and reliable. Best impact grenade money can buy but personally I don't use one because I prefer timers.

I use a mixture of 9mm and .209 shotgun primers. The shotgun primers are ludicrously cheep - about £13 for 100 of them. The 9mm/380s are about £15 to £22 depending on where you get them. .209s are more than loud enough if you're using this for CQB, which I assume you are as it's an impact grenade.

Well that settles it then! I do indeed play CQB with the odd open game mixed in there which is why I want an impact grenade.

      Really helpful post. Thanks mate!

I neglected to mention that for the .380s they come in boxes of 50 if you buy Fiocchi ones (which are the most common) so they're about 2.5x more expensive than the .209s. Bear in mind the TRMR takes .380s and not full blown 9mm blanks (which are much longer but obviously the same diameter).

Heh from an airsoft shop maybe.

I bought 100 209 primers for £4.12. He said if I bought 1000 at once (a whole box) he'd sell them to me for £38.00. Just go to a shooting shop. Some are finicky about selling to people who don't own shotguns though or have shotgun licences.

Two of three shops selling 209 primers asked me for my UKARA a bill and an address. The other one asked me why I needed them I showed him my oshiboom he said he had one too and sold them to me no questions asked.

There are actually numerous variations of various grenades. A person used a 12g burglar alarm thing (and got banned immediately).

            Anyway you'll be using 209s or 9mms.

            Here's a bit of a list

9mms are louder and give a bigger flash than 209s. I'm not talking flash as in flash bang. I mean flash as in my oshibooms will have 1-2cm of flame out the holes in the bottom where the primer is vented. You won't really be able to tell though. Some sites will ban or restrict 9mm blank usage. One site for instance completely bans 9mm anywhere that is enclosed meaning indoors or inside things people might be hiding inside.

While they allow 209s but again you can't toss them inside lockers and barrels people might be hiding inside of.

9mms cost more even at a gun shop than 209s. 50 9mms at gunshop are £11. 100 209s are £4. This allows considerably more liberal usage. Due to the are grenades pay to win thread though I limit myself to 4 uses per 10 minute game (2 loaded and 2 reloads I keep at respawn).

9mms are obviously bigger than 209s and therefore a lot of people can reload them much faster than 209s. I can't reload my 209s with gloves on unless I'm wearing motorbike racing gloves made of super thin leather. While the guy who I play with can reload a 9mm in 2-3 seconds I need to take off my glove before popping the new 209 in.

Don't forget you'll also need a box or something to store reloads if you carry them around 9mms being bigger means you need a bigger box and a bigger pouch as you can't really carry them loose in your pocket.

I have a trmr which I have the stock Base and the multi bang Base. I use the smaller 209 as they are allowed across angell the sites I play and as the multi bang can only use 209s I use rhea in my vtg too.
As for use they anrellnre more than loud enough for cqb and outdoor use and reloading is really easy. For reloading in the field I'd recommend that you find a small holder for the spare rounds so they are protected. I use an old camera film case as it keeps them dry amend safe in my utility pouch.
