Need help identifying a gun
13 November, 2016, 23:13
Hello, this is a gun that was passed on to me. It was originally bought pre-owned as what was believed to be a G&P SR-16.
However, after research, I found that G&P sr16s have longer barrels. It is also not the shorty version.
The code under its stoner rifle mark is *K80644* and I have been unsuccessful in finding one like it in the internet, I've checked Knights armaments themselves, G&P, VFC ect and the gbb, ebb, and aeg variants.
The pics of the gun don't contain the original stock, grip or iron sites (and suppressor).
As far as we're aware, everything else is stock. However, I am also aware that this may be custom built from different external parts, as the RIS barrel seems to an sr-15 type yet the main body says 'SR-16'.
Any help with identification of any part would be great
Thanks

Re: Need help identifying a gun
Sure looks to be an old g&p urx 2 but to know for sure have a look at the motor if its stock it will be a G&P m120 and screwed to the connectors , remove the upper and have a look at the gearbox as g&p have a metal nozzle and no bump for the charge handle on the spine of the shell

Re: Need help identifying a gun
Its actually going in for internal repairs so I'll ask them to take a look at the things you've mentioned, thanks!

Assuming it is the old urx 2,
Is it basically no longer being produced or sold?
If so do you know anything about the gun in terms of general performance and internals?

Re: Need help identifying a gun
If it's a gun that has no fancy mosfet, they are all basically the same down the years, get it serviced, clean inner barrel and probably change the hop rubber and it will be golden

Bits that wear out other than hop rubber/ nub are trigger contacts, bushings and cut off levers , but you would know straight away from firing, it wouldnt fire properly or it would not engage semi very well, obviously other parts can go, piston parts and gears
