ICS L85A2 Mosfet Advice
11 January, 2017, 10:55
I've been looking at adding a mosfet to my L85, but due to the trigger contacts and the way the gearbox is laid out, I'm getting really confused with which Mosfet to go for?
Has anyone had first hand experience fitting one to the L85? if so, which did you go for and was it easy to fit?
Cheers

Re: ICS L85A2 Mosfet Advice
Get a Gate and hard wire straight to the contacts it's very straight forward, you just have to decide if you want active breaking or not because it almost doubles the price, something like a pico or nano

Re: ICS L85A2 Mosfet Advice
I was looking at the merf 3.2 but I thought with the way the trigger contracts work, it would be slightly more difficult. If that's not the case, then I'll get one ordered asap
cheers

Re: ICS L85A2 Mosfet Advice
The MERF 3.2 has way too many features that most people will never take advantage of, like Sparrow Hawk said just look at the PICO or Nano, the Pico AAB used to be one of my favourites from its small size (it is tiny) and relatively good build quality and i would recommend you hard wire dual trigger contacts rather than just the one because it works out better and your already in there, why not do both whilst your there.
From what i understand the L85 has some ample space for the MOSFET inside the TMH at the front but this is from looking inside a G&G L85 briefly.
Just desolder the old motor wires from the trigger contacts, resolder on the trigger wires, rewire mosfet to motor directly and away you go.
