  • Your 1st hand experiences with the WE Masada MSK

    Hello everyone..

Its nearly that time, where i can get myself a GBBR assault rifle, i was hoping to get the WE Scar H, as i started this topic a few months ago and have been saving ever since..

    http://forums.zeroin.co.uk/showthrea...E-Scar-L-amp-H

Well the bad news is that the places i tend to shop and most other places for that matter have not had the WE Scar H or even the L, in stock since november, which im really gutted about to be honest, after years i decide on an airsoft rifle to get that i like the look and feel of and not i cant buy one anyway because of stock. lol

Now im going to give it 2 more months at the max and continue saying up the last of the cash needed, but if none have come in stock by then, im either going to forget about buying a GBBR or choose something else, at first i thought about the WE 10'' PDW, but i think its too small for my liking..

So then i saw the WE Madada MSK, I quite like the look of this, not as much as the scar but its about the only other GBBR i like the look of to be honest, So ill get to my question, what are Your 1st hand experiences with the WE Masada MSK GBBR???

Once again, i am very grateful for all your help and input..

    ATB, Marc..

I know a few places with the scar H in stock, and I'd reccomend it to anyone. It's not without its problems, but it is a considerable improvement on a lot of their other GBBR's. It's main issue I've found is it snaps the holder for the auto sear bar, disabling full auto. It's a cheap fix at £6 but I thought I'd mention it. Personally I run it as a dmr so I have it "broke" anyway. The H mags also hold a lot of gas, and the fill/exhaust valves are next to each other which is great for keeping the seals sealed. If you stand a normal m4 mag up, the silicone sits in the bottom, helping to seal the fill valve, but it dries the exhaust valve because it's on the opposite end of the mag

Anyway... the msk (acr) has a few cycling issues. I'm not sure if it's been fixed in the latest generation, but polishing the base of the bolt and the hammer helps with this. They are coated in a black finish, which isn't the smoothest thing in the world. I'd recommend that mod for any gbbr though. I've found that they can be fussy on mags too. If you're only running acr mags then you're fine, but I've seen some that will run m4 mags flawlessly and others that don't like it at all. The hop up is m4 spec, but the bolt is unique, as is most of the internals.

Personally, I'd go with the scar/ m4 platform over the ACR, especially if it's your first gbbr.

If you really want a WE tech the scar H is the best they have to offer. If I were you I'd skip out on WE entirely and go with ghk or TM.

If you have decided you want a GBBR Marc, don't compromise on it, now I'm big into TM recoils, I've got six, but just a few months ago, I bought my first GBBR, and I have to be honest, the feel, or the vibe if you like, is so much better, although I love my aeg's, and still use them most of the time, cracking the GBBR out is a real treat, and now that I've got both TM & WE GBB's, I can be objective and say, they're both great and I love them both. So if, as i'd assume, you've already got an AEG or two, be patient on the GBB front, and wait for the one you want and get it, it's well worth having at least one in the arsenal.
"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.

^^ This. I've always got an aeg in the boot with me, but there's nothing like playing with a gbbr. It's an experience that's difficult to explain, but it's awesome. I've got a we 416c for cqb, and it's soo loud I can get people to stay behind cover even when I'm empty. I just fire with the bolt release held down until I get in a better position and get them with a pistol.

If you have your heart set on a scar H, buy one and just put a barrel/maple leaf bucking in it. I was outranging an R hopped 416 recoil last sat (admittedly I had about 40 more fps). Just don't get your hand caught on the reciprocating charging handle. It bloody hurts!

when i was looking at gbbr's i was looking into the WE m4 CQB, i was adviced to steer clear of WE by the shop {owner has around 20years experiance in airsoft and runs a site} apparently WE have reliability issues, was adviced to go for GHK , ended up with ghk's m4 cqb , love it, had a few issues to start out with, leaky mags and a hop up that wouldnt come back down , all simple fix's and its been sweet with no issues other then the chamber chopping bio bb's in half { dont use bio bb's lol } , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3a4Vzo9u3g

A ghk m4 will be better than a we, but it is quite a bit more expensive. They all have little problems. As for the bb chopping.. it's best to use bb's that are hard as possible in a gbbr due to the force acted upon them when being loaded, as well as the temperature drop of getting blasted with propane. Geoffs are nice and hard

Re: Your 1st hand experiences with the WE Masada MSK

I've owned a lot of GBBR's Including a We Scar L and a WE MSK, they're both similar in performance with a big heavy bolt that uses a lot of gas to cycle, yes the H has a bigger mag, but also a bigger bolt, the msk seemed to suffer a lot with cycling issues even after a polished bolt and hammer, ghk and g&p/WA m4's are good but are overpriced! And sometimes hard to get parts for, if you are new to gbbr's then I recommend the below on good experience and knowledge!
                    1. GHK G5 - one of the best GBBR's ever
                    2. Kwa vector, if you can get hold of a good one, keep it! Mags are well built and inner components are
                    Top notch!
                    3. KJW M4 v2, The best Gas M4 I've ever used, non interchangeable parts unlike the Wa based m4's but by god the best preforming, cheapest, most consistent and hassle free gbbr I've owned!

I agree the g5 is probably the best starter GBBR, however parts for the ghk m4 are incredibly cheap and readily available from well known sites.

                        Hi All

once again thank you for all your help and comments i am very grateful, its always nice to her peoples thoughts and opinions on these and other rifles too alone with your pro's and con's for each rifle..

Ill answer a few questions first, Buying from the UK, is really the only option for me for a few reasons, because i like to go to my local gun shops, and also pay cash, my savings, which is going slow lol, but also because of my defense, not being a skirmisher, but belong to an reenactment group and RS firearms clubs, i like supporting my local gun shops because they always give me the best deal they can plus if anything major goes wrong when the gun is under warranty i can just take it back and go home sorted within an hour or so, lol if we dont natter too much.

Yeah i dont own any AEG's they are not my cup of tea to be honest, dont get me wrong i know they are a great platform and very consistent and reliable even more so in the winter compered to gas guns, but i dont really like the lack of realism, because im a member of a few RS firearms clubs and most of the guys in my family have their FAC (lol i get all the perks and none of the cons or costs) I get to shoot all type of RS guns weekly so realism is a big thing for me.

A few of the assault rifles i get to shoot as well are M4's my nephew owns a nice Colt M4 .22lr, fun to shoot but the standard M4 design is really my style which is why i have never really looked into getting a Airsoft M4, to be totally honest it was only about 8 months ago i thought about getting any airsoft rifles because of the RS and im mostly a airsoft/airgun pistol man too, but thats also because its the thing we cant shoot much of in RS unless they are long barreled, but i am a lover of all shooting sports i like to shoot anything i can, and after having a fondle of the WE scar, it was put on my wanted list, as i say im not a skirmisher so ill not be skirmishing with it but would take it to gun clubs and shoot it in the airsoft and airgun rooms, but i still tend to put a lot of rounds through the guns but as you know the more guns we have it spreads out the usages making them last longer too, i would not use it as much in the winter, i tend to shoot more RS in the winter then a bit more airsoft and airguns in spring and summer.

After speaking to you on guys/girls on here and another forum i think ill stick with my first choice then and get the scar h, like i say, i have to save up another £100+ but ill just keep saying and wait for one of my locals to get one in stock, if its before i have the cash ready i will just get them to put one aside for me, i do really like the style look and feel of the scar so i should stick with that one shouldn't i..

lol i best crack on and save up a bit faster, dont want these maybe! new power limits stopping me getting one...

                        Happy shooting all. thanks again..
                        ATB, Marc..
