  • Where did inex come from?

I was looking at some gun cam footage today and the end of the game is announced inex...

I know it's game over but what is it supposed to mean?

Why not just shout game over?

Are you sure it wasn't EndEx? Short for End of Excercise.

Yeah, EndEx, its a military term thats dribbled over into airsoft because OMG ITS SO TACTICOOL, The real army use it so we must too!

        Le Cringe.

(obvious exception applies for milsim games)

I much preferred the term PUFO to ENDEX, always made us smile (lol, prob cos it meant you could get warm & dry)

Yeah, it's 'end ex', short for End of Exercise.

Works in the military because we do exercises, not so much in Airsoft because we play soldiers with toy guns.

Using Endex in airsoft is a bit silly really. We are not on exercise, we are playing a game with our toy guns that shoot little plastic balls.

"Game over" is much more in keeping with the reality.

It is easy to say, easy to hear its also short and punchy. So if it works who cares.
