Asking for general advice or technical help?
2 June, 2011, 20:36
Please note that the Advice and New Players section is for general advice and not for help with specific technical problems. We are getting loads of reported posts about this on a daily basis and it means that we are wasting time moving threads when we should really be keeping a general eye on things and trying to enjoy the forum ourselves!
For example:
Is the SRC M4A1 any good?
- General advice and OK in this section (subject to the note below).
What size barrel/battery/RIS (etc) does the SRC M4A1 take?
- Technical advice and should be in the Technical Help section for electric guns.
OK, we all realise that there are times that the line between these two things is very fine, but some examples posted recently are beyond a joke.
In future, any technical help posts in this section may be deleted and the post returned to the OP to start another thread in the correct section. If that means that an answer given may have been lost then, sorry, but it should have been in the right place to begin with!
Your first option should be the search option.
Most general questions get asked on a regular basis and can be found with a little effort on your part. If the item you are searching for has less than 4 characters, then use the * key to increase this to 4 or 5. For example *m14* returns 20 pages of answers, while *m14 returns none and m14 is an invalid search.
Don't be upset if you ask a question that's been asked a dozen times before, only to have a series of links to those previous questions posted instead of actual answers. If other people can find these threads, then so can you!
