Re: tw@t's on the field ..

totally agree fella, marshals cant be everywhere...

What if one is 6 ft away, watching you get shot at 2ft, then watch the same player shot another team member at point blank, without even an appology...

Not going into the "in's and outs" of it fella, i'm sure you had a great day on the orange team glad us "wombles" could be of service...

I've sent an email to Felix, with my number if he would like a chat. I run a very succesfull paintball site cant stand paintball myself) and would be happy to share some tips that would simply and drastically improve the outpost with next to no cost at all!

Totally agree, dont break up teams, but balance the two teams rather than put everyone with a F&O patch on one team, and the rest on the other... there were clear pockets of smaller teams on each side, if they were balanced evenly, at least then we would have had a slight chance in knowing wtf we were meant to be doing or where we were going!

I've played at many a site where you play 2-3 games, but sunday was so vague, drawn out and confusing, we simply went out and shot anything that moved, much easier

I liked your post, because its your view, your entitled to it

Worst guy i saw was some guy with a union flag bandanna. He snuck up of 4 of us, and shot 2 of us pretty much point black (me in the side of the head), then held a solid wooden 'knife' (god knows how he managed to get away with using it) to another guy to keep him as a hostage. The other guy with us who hadnt been hit politely told him to surrender, so mr bandanna shot him a few times point blank. Safe to say we never saw him again.

Re: tw@t's on the field ..

Aye, I agree with both Jamie (as he's my team mate) and madwelshman, on various but not all points.

The tunnels isn't a perfect site but I have a lot of respect for the marshals there as it cannot be fun trying to marshal such a large, unique site.

If the teams seemed unbalanced I am sure it wasn't done on purpose - I didn't realise any more F&O teams had been put on the Orange team other than the Immortals, but I don't frequent The Outpost so I wouldn't know.

Is this the first time you've been there Madwelshman? The first time I went I had a similar experience with poor gameplay from a select few ruining it for everyone and this last time for me was a COMPLETELY different experience.

One thing I did notice though, and getting back to the topic of this thread - was from certain members of the Green team who I am told are regulars there (who I will not name as I do not do the name and shame game) was the age old favourite of cheaters - "I cannot see where the shot came from so I'll ignore it."

One fellow - the very same one Jamie mentions in his post above as I was the prone player in his tale - I had the opportunity to shoot again later in the day from a concealed position (along with 13 of his mates, but I digress. :D ) and I shot him as he stacked up on a corner with a double tap. Feeling the hit and not seeing a shooter he bolted for the nearest cover and I hit him with six more shots before he reached it as I was literally about 5 metres from him at the time.

Thankfully after our first encounter with him the Marshals had agreed to watch him and his team for the day, and one of them was to hand to tell him he'd been hit - several times - with a "please stop taking the piss' tone of voice. On his way back past his team one of them had a bit of a discussion with him that went something like this:

Douches friend: "Where did you get shot from?"

Douche: "I don't know, I didn't see anyone so I think they were blind firing!"

Marshal: "No, you just got hit by someone you didn't see - back to regen, now!"

This guy was part of a team who had several shining examples of poor airsoft sportsmanship all day. This guy was just the pinnacle of douche, but examples of some of his mates:

1 of them tossed a BFG into the corridor we were in, we all scattered into hard cover. Marshal shouts "BFG - ZERO KILLS!" as is the custom when they are used. This guy comes advancing toward the corridor and one of our guys popped out from another position away from us and shot him. So he calls his hit, goes to gather his BFG, and as he does he stopped for a few seconds to tag EVERY single one of our team before going back to his regen, and it was obvious that's what he was doing cos he looked at each of our guys in turn - who were just emerging from cover. At this point we were right by their regen so he knew he'd be back in the game in a couple of minutes.

Another example was a fellow who tossed a BFG that WASN'T LOADED around a corner then called a marshal to complain that we didn't take hits from it. As we didn't want to cause problems we took it, but then he did the same thing later in the afternoon and this time I called him on it. With no marshals around to hear him he said "Yeah I know - I knew exactly what I was doing when I tossed it." Using an empty BFG as a scare tactic is perfectly valid, but to call a marshal over after doing it once to complain about non-hit taking from it is just low.

From talking to the marshals about these guys I heard that they have been warned multiple times for this are are very close to being banned.

On the flip side, from my concealed position in my first example I did manage to tag FOURTEEN green players with my GBB SCAR without any of them spotting me - with a marshall stood ten feet away watching it all happen. I have no idea how they didn't spot me as my SCAR isn't exactly quiet! I eventually called a hit from a ricochet as I was practically out of ammo anyway - was quite satisfying to so blatantly ruin their advance when a their little group had been cheating all day. :D

Dan you made me jump on the second game i leaned round a corner near the safe zone thinking you were on my team, safe to say your reactions were faster than mine lol. Out of interest how does your we handle it in the tunnels? as im in the process of getting my we m4 back up and running and wouldnt ind using next time i visit

Agreed with all the above comments regarding sundays game, tunnels is one of my favourite sites and allways will be becuase it suits me. There were a few issues for me, mainly one player blind firing, prone on the floor with his gun on top of a box. he managed to hit me fair play to him i took the hit. few seconds later i get hit again, so i call hit and politly say that im allready out, i then get it again, i then realised that he was trying to shoot a person near me but couldnt cause of his prone position with his gun above his head.

Even with the issues i had a good day and this deffo wont change my love of drakelow.

Hahaha, awesome! What rifle were you using, as I tend to tag people in my mind via the most easily recognised bit of kit they carry? :D

I loved using my SCAR in the tunnels, first time I've used it down there and it performed flawlessly, as my "14 kill streak" can attest to!

If you want to take your M4 just ensure you apply liberal amounts of lubrication before you play as the brick dust down there will probably play merry hell with the internals if you don't - I know it does to my lungs!

Surely you can't say Sunday was well organised?

Seems only one team each day has a good experiance... I won't waste another day off to give it a second chance, Anzio has a much better rep, I'll try there next, shame, I loved ucap, guess I hoped the outpost would be the same...

I threw a MkV up the stairs. This scared him down the stairs.
MkV comes down the stairs with him (rubbish throw on my part). He stands on the MkV... It goes off under his foot and about 10ft away from my ears (at head height due to the stairs).
Whilst raising my hand & after calling HIT at the top of my voice... he full autos me in the face from 3m... litterly about 20 rounds.
I stand there silent for about 20 seconds... then say to him "well... are you going to take that?"
he replied with a pretty nasty response which summed up was "f-off, the grenade was no where near me & I shot you... you should be out"
We argued for abit. In which I pointed out that he was stood on the grenade... so regardless of if he was a d*ck for shooting me in the face after I called hit.. he should still be out.
Ended up having to call a Marshal over... who inspected the grenade & the burn mark on his trousers... then escorted him to the respawn.
Very happy with the marshal as he shadowed the guy for the rest of the game which kept the see you next Tuesday in order.

The other one that happened which entertained me was as follows:
Bloke with a pistol was shooting me from about 40m. I ran at him firing rounds with my scar. I dont know if I hit him as I was running... but from that distance he would have felt it...
Ended up needing to reload (GBBR... real caps... pain in the arse sometimes). I was stood still in the dark about 15m behind him reloading whilst he was dancing about firing shots randomly for about 5 or so seconds... he emptied an entire magazines into the room... but in the opposite direction to me. I then came out the shadows and point blanked him with two rounds in the back of his arm... at which point he runs away (after calling me some very childish names)...
then goes and tells a marshal he shot me a point blank with an ENTIRE magazine at point blank and I didnt take my hits... Marshal comes over and gives me a good b*llocking... then asks me for my side of the story... He went off to talk to the other guy about his story and I didnt see the marshal for that game and I didnt see the other guy for the rest of the day. No hard feelings on the marshal as he had no reason to think the guy was lying initially... but im suprised that players are so blinded with ignorance that they would lie about being shot... and then spin some crazy fantasy about it.
god u argued!!! he would be defo out, out on his back on the bloody stairs

I think I remember - was it right by the "marshals entrance" to the safe zone, right where the tunnel becomes a narrow corridor because of the prefab L-shaped side room that runs down alongside where we chrono'ed in the morning? If so you were definitely not number 14.

If so I'd just taken two of your team with my BFG from the large side tunnel and rushed out to follow it and go for whoever had managed to evade it. I didn't see anyone so I grabbed my BFG and dived through the small door in the side of the prefab to reload it, when I heard you right behind me on the other side of the wall.

I expected you to come storming in and frag me at any moment so I dumped my BFG and decided to storm you! :P

Didn't go so well for me cos your mate behind you got me square in the face. Thank god I was wearing my Trollface mask or I'd have probably lost another tooth!

Re: tw@t's on the field ..

I went to the tunnels at Drakelow a few weeks ago with a couple of mates , we were all bundled onto one team against the regulars.
TBH I was not impressed at all , usually I'm not one to moan but I found the whole day a bit of a let down and the only saving grace was the good company of the chaps I went there with.
The hit taking was a little dubious to say the least , the games were not very well thought out , the areas in play did change all of a sudden without warning when we were getting the upper hand against the regulars .
Even going to the bog for a slash was risky as it was in the skirmish area and you risked getting shot on the bell end :D
Some players stopped after the first game , I made it till lunch time before packing up and everyone else on the team had kind of lost interest by 3pm.

Such a shame as the location is excellent and so much more could be done with it by just putting a little thought into the games.

For a dare? Good grief Penfold, think there would have been some rather stern words said if it were me, not loud or abusive, just very very stern.
