Re: Afghanistan impression
I love the KZS suits, really comfy and roomy. The RD54 i'm wearing is less practical (mag pouch is very tight fit for the mag) but the KZS, panama bus hat and jackboots were dead comfy all weekend.
My mate Dieselmonkey went for a belt pouch and a beret most the time (he's a long haired erk so had to cover it up somehow)

Re: Afghanistan impression
Unfortunately I cant justify to the missus buying a new ak for every loadout
Ideally i'll get a 74 at some point but there are just too many themed events to go to and not enough cash!

Would you have been likely to see Liftchik vests in afghan?
just wondering because I'm thinking of doing a VDV late-afghan war impression

Nice, I was this *pinches a miniscule amount of air between thumb and forefinger* close to buying a Telnyashka, regretting it now- defo looking good! I'll tell you what you both need, you need some heavy stubble and a 70% vodka induced sneer...

As far as I am aware, no evidence has come to light to suggest that lifchiks were issued and used in Afghan.
Chicoms certainly were, and there's plenty of evidence out there for that, but Soviet lifchik.. nyet.

Re: Afghanistan impression
Type 1 Lifchiks were used in Afghanistan late on, about 87 onwards. As for the more common Type 2, correct there is no evidence of it ever being used.
