Brassguard Stark 2
27 June, 2012, 15:28
At last!
Just received my Stark 2 helmet.
Payment is via international bank transfer, so add £10 on top for the privilege
Communication from Brassguard is slow but it does come. First they confirm your payment, then you get a tracking number
Posted on June 21st it arrived today, so not bad!!!
They've now put the price up to $105 (was $90)
The helmet itself is super solid. In fact it's quite heavy (bit of draw back wearing it all day?)
Vision is ok and nothing obstructs your view, but I feel the powder coating is obscuring the mesh and making it slightly thicker than the plain models would be. I think a wire scrub with a wire brush may solve that (around the eyeline)
Mine is Multicam but plain black and others exist and looking on the website, this build up isn't there. The mesh looks crisp
Adjustment is via an elasticated back strap, and you can add an optional chin strap
Internal padding is excellent and very comfortable.
Only draw back seems to be raising the rifle to your cheek with a holosight.
Same as any other face mask, I need to sculpt the face a little.
It's just a little tough, as this kit is super solid and rock hard!!!!
I am playing with it Sunday so can add a better review then
Work to do:
Sculpt cheeks a little better
Maybe sand a strip along the eye to remove the power coat build up

Re: Brassguard Stark 2
To make this helmet better I cut out some mesh and replaced it with a visor
Best thing I've ever done!

Gives you total confidence and if you mount the sight in a riser then getting co-witness down the rifle is a doddle.

It's a Nolan sun visor
Sunglass flip down visor inside the Nolan VPS helmet
