Bit late to the party... but this was new to me: Looks like Tri made a 148 now too

Will have to watch the video when I fire up the PC as my ancient phone won't handle it.

But YES! Already got a 152 and wanted a 148 for my dual Comtacs as that's the way its done. Just need Fallout 4 to be released and then I can save for one of these. They up for sale yet?

Ow really? What's does a combination offer what a set of either doesn't and who carries this setup? FAC's and TACP's?

Turns out they're not released until December.... so I'm hoping a couple of second hand 152's to rock up in the classifieds!

I just think its a case of the 152 is larger and more powerful so is used for FAC/Higher command and the 148 is for squad and platoon level comms.

Then again I might be getting it all wrong. XDl

I believe the US army used the 148 for a while until the Marines and Airforce switched to the 152 because it had better frequency response and wide band width and later like last few years the army had been phasing them in..

Makes sense... the 148 is becoming quite an old bit of kit now..

                    Right, radio on its way...

...Now anyone tried to connect one of these to one of these via a PRR DUAL PTT (ie the PRR with that extra wire and second button of your platoon commander):

So, some of you may have noticed my old trusty G7 radio popping up in the classifieds... Well all because this bad boy arrived today:

(dont sweat, I know about the antennae)
                      Time to program B)

Only thing I didnt mean to order is the ear piece that connects to the mic. So if anyone does have a use for one of these do get in contact.

We went ahead and made a basic frequency programming video to help with some of the confusion in lieu of the manual (being poorly translated from Chinese. It doesn't get real in depth (since we haven't figured out some of the features), but it's enough to get you started.

The TRI PRC 152 is actually a BAOJIE BJUV88 radio..the chipset and mother board are exactly the same. If you look up the manual you will find the exact same operations. That will help you to program it.

Do you know where you can get the English version of the manual for the BJUV88? All that I was able to find was the Chinese version.
