  • First man in room clearing?

Just a quick question, but apart from the immediate entry of doorway, what corner and side is the first man in a stack responsible to clear? So many conflicting sources say one or the other. Naturally its not always predetermined but is their any rule of thumb to follow for the first mans responsibility? Cheers.

First man usually enters and follows the wall left...

Swat do first man left to nearest corner, second left man passes and takes left far corner, its the same for the right handside.
The does vary slightly between groups, the only thing that stays the same is clearing the 'kill box' or 'kill zone', that's a a 1m square area just inside the door.

1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: First man in room clearing?

We always go first man makes the decision himself, as he's got the balls to go in first.

There are various members of our team that have been taught various room clearance doctrines, from "first man clears the whole room till he takes a round" to "first man picks, second man goes opposite way. It's a bit hard to explain but basically once you've established your corner is clear you rotate to cover the rest of the room as you move out to your corner.

The clever bit in airsoft - when bursting through a door - is that if your all stacked up super tight and you're smashing into a room when the first man gets hit (normally because you haven't bothered with a grenade through the door first) the second man just pushes him through the door - he's got two or three men shoving him through that door whether his hands are up in the air or not - so your stopped dead by one dead player. the dead player then simply steps against the wall with his hands up and lets the rest of the team get on with it.

Of course, it's one thing to say that, it's another entirely to be the second man when the first shouts hit...

The first man goes in with two pulled grenades, right?
Quickest way to clear any room.

First man follows shortest wall, this could be left or right depending on room layout. The idea is that you move so close with your buddy that you effectively enter the room at the same time! Speed and smoothness being the key to get past the fatal funnel. In my opinion it's never a good idea to have more than three in one room at a time and always leave one outside the doorway to cover your exit.

I was first man into the room at the top of The Mall next the to the play room on Sunday. I have never before been shot so many times by so many people for so little gain and so much pain.

I went right, if that helps.

if it's 2 fire teams of 4 each then...

flashbang or grenade depending on who might be in the room.
1st guy left (this is just a general rule as you might not know the room layout however if the room layout is known then a plan before entering is best)
                    2nd guy right
3rd guy covers the roof (amazing how people forget this and how easy it is to create a firing hole in a ceiling)
4th guy goes in with the stick and is backup for anyone who goes down.

send team cover the hall/other doorways.

once room clear then team takes up position in hall and other team clears the next room...continue until building is clear...simples!

The second should go with a Bosch. smaller attached supressor.

Re: First man in room clearing?

Would it not make more sense for the first man to make the entry based on which side of a door they're assaulting from?

For example stack up on left hand side, first man goes to right hand side of room and vice versa? Means No.1 doesn't have to double back, saving precious moments.

First man in should prepare thoroughly the day before with a medium to very hot curry. Then it won't matter if first man goes left or right.....that room will be cleared.

Wouldn't like to be 2nd man in though...

Take it up with SWAT teams and whoever trains them.
Your idea though means the guy is in the middle of the room, target for all. Chances of friendly fire are higher as he has to cross friendly lines of fire.
