  • Selling a RIF to a Buyer in the Isle of Man

Hi there, I'm selling a RIF to a buyer who lives in the Isle of Man

Now am I right in saying UKARA/VCR doesn't apply over there?

So the question is what do I need to check to cover myself legally before I post the gun

Do I just need to verify he's over 18?

    Thanks

Just verify they are over 18 (I can't see that being any different). For all intents and purposes, treat it as you would a two-tone sale in the UK.

Also, for anyone else viewing this in future...top of page 5 under Imitation Firearms:

"The importation, sale etc of certain realistic imitation firearms has been made illegal in the UK.
However, similar legislation has not been enacted in the Isle of Man.

It is an offence to possess such an object with intent to cause fear of violence, or to carry it in public
without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.

There is no general import prohibition on toy or replica guns, or on “airsoft” or BB-type guns.
