Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment

Can't comment on the theft charges (Andy pleaded guilty so nothing too say) but as to the allegation of supplying terrorists , utter bollox ! Having known Andy on and off for a good few yrs I can most definitely say HE would never knowingly supplies terrorists ! The man holds our forces in the highest regard so never happen .
From deepest darkest pagan Wales ! The steel wolves !

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment

Someone who "holds our forces in the highest regard" would not have been involved in stealing from them.

There was no allegation that they had been supplying terrorists; there was lurid speculation, although possibly not unfounded, that items could have found their way into the hands of terrorists.

For those stating that he is innocent until proven guilty, he pleaded guilty and is now awaiting sentencing; so, yes, he is guilty.

I still don't know what they've plead guilty to.

Presumably the soldiers will be done for stealing and the other bloke selling/handling stolen mod equipment

Can find precisely one reputable source for this: https://modmedia.blog.gov.uk/2016/10...-october-2016/ And that only mentions the media reporting it, the rest is from useless tabloids who are even less truthful than the broadsheets (who are themselves in the habit of routinely exaggerating "gun" stories). Overinflated at best, padded out with outright lies at worst. If any weapons had been stolen the meeja would have truly shouted it from the rooftops, as is it's pretty clear that it was a bunch of non lethal stores.

The night vision he was caught with at Heathrow was a set of PVS21 low profile night vision goggles.

I suppose he 'could' have presumed they were legitimately written off?

That would have made him an innocent, duped victim; in that case, why did he plead guilty?

Saves dragging it out, reduced sentence in case he was found guilty anyway?

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment

The risk of ruining his reputation, especially given that his market is people who are well disposed to the military, would seem to make that a very poor decision.

Also, why run the risk of a custodial sentence if he is not guilty?

I imagine his barrister has negotiated a deal with the CPS and the Probation Service. I'm trying to find out about the two cretins that stole the kit, they're the people I have the larger issue with.

                        Edit.

Seeing they stole weapon parts and pyros, I struggle to see how Andy wouldn't have known that stuff was stolen, that kind of stuff is serialised and accounted for. Pyro is destroyed and weapons parts are usually backloaded for destruction. Hopefully he keeps his freedom, the other two, I'd imagine discharge and civilian prison await.

Nil sympathy for the two idiots caught nicking the gear. Its not the first and certainly wont be the last time ive seen, heard or read about it happening.
I remember one certain pillock was caught selling aircrew NVG's on ebay. He was found out as the pictures he uploaded of it showed a serviceable equipment label attached to the gogs along with other bits of maintenance history and the units location. Oh and also the daft t***s ebay user ID was his service number.

I hope they do time in colly and civvy nick for it.
