Re: Airsoft licensed instructors?
Target shooting and skirmishing are very different.
Just a few simple techniques can be taught to someone to improve their accuracy when shooting at a target, with say - a bolt action sniper....
As for skirmishing, you can't teach people much that will really help them apart from the basics of how their gun works.

Re: Airsoft licensed instructors?
Im really finding it hard to understand what exactly needs to be taught here or why on earth you need Youtube. Go to a site, rent an AEG, ask how it works, point it, shoot it, run around, fall over, get shot. Its hardly bloody rocket science.

Re: Airsoft licensed instructors?
If anyone really is unsure what to do, contact a site beforehand and ask if you can turn up and watch, I'm sure most would be happy to oblige
At the site I used to marshall at, we used to get a lot of Groupon people, most of them having never been airsofting before. We asked for them to turn up early and we'd run small sessions covering basics on how to use the AEG, and stress the importance of safety
The marshalls would also pay extra attention to any newbies/first timers and offer assistance if needed, as would most (if not all) of the regular players

In a nut shell , what he said !
There's definitely some comedy gold in this thread ! Tactics and planning in Airsoft are like a red arrows display , when the marshal shouts "game on !" It's the same as when the flight leader says " break break break !" Everyone shoots off in totally different directions and plays there own game ! Only time you EVER see any 'team tactics' is when you've got a couple of guys who are actually in a team together and more than likely are comm'ed up as well !
Airsoft instructors ! Now this HAS made me chuckle !
From deepest darkest pagan Wales ! The steel wolves !

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KGmYD7kcvQ
these guys are using disposible grenades costing £2-£3 per unit, thats a good amount of expense all wasted because no one had the good sense to try and work out a methodical approach to the problem of breaching hostile doorways using grenades
they dont know how to stack up on a doorway or get into decent positions before the grenade is deployed, they dont know how to deploy a grenade and they dont know how to clear the hostile area post deployment.
this video shows them (not) learning the hard way and shows poor grenade deployments eliminating large numbers of friendlies
if you gave me an afternoon with these guys i could teach them simple strategies for deploying grenades using teamwork and timing and at the end of the afternoon they would have developed a definiate new 'skill set' that they lacked in the morning
mebbe the guys in the video WANT TO LEARN THE HARD WAY, in which case good luck to them and i hope they're having a good time
