  • Buying a 'grunt'/bog standard M4A1 - Anything other than G&P?

    Hi All,

For whatever reason, I've decided that I want a bog standard M4A1(US Marine-ish) AEG. I know they're 'bording' but after owning a lot of AR variants, I've decided thats what I want next.
I think I've narrowed down my choice to the G&P M4 RAS but nowhere in the UK sells them so my question is this; Can anyone recommend another brand other than G&P?

I've been looking at Nuprol, G&G etc but I've never owned any of those so I'm unsure of the quality etc. Does anyone have an input in this? My only requirement is that whatever brand's route I go down, it must have a full metal body.

    Thanks!

G&g top tech out of the box are very good. I actually prefer them to g&p.

pretty sure specna arms do one. should be pretty cheap from Poland, full metal body, and QC gearbox to boot.

I had a JG S-system, which I thought was fantastic..

            But that's not a M4A1...

TM do a M4A1 SOCOM recoil, or do you want one with RIS?

Depends on your budget I suppose. Recoils are up there in terms of performance. You considered the WE m4a1? The aeg version that is.

Go for a KWA RM4a1, no rail forend but that can soon be added and it comes with a crane stock. But you also get the bonus of strong recoil, last round feed mags and stop on empty / working bolt catch. The shoot remarkably well, perhaps replace the hop rubber but that is it. They are also half the price of the TM Recoils ( designed by the same man ), with stronger recoil and can use standard mags without an adapter unlike the TM’s. The mags also only cost £40 for 3.

Well as many of you know, i'm a major recoil advocate, I've only got TM's but as Al says above, the KWA has a hell of a reputation....But when I said about my old JG, I was thinking you were looking for something pretty basic, as in no recoil, reasonably priced etc, and on those grounds, anything JG really takes some beating.

I think I've got my heart now set on a Nuprol M4 SOPMOD; its rear wired, has a crane style stock and seems to have fairly solid internals for the price (around £215). Anyone had any experience with these before I pull the trigger (pun intended)?
