So I've recently purchased a GHK G5 which is for sale at the moment, while doing this I listed as yes I'm open to swaps because who know what kind of weapon will be offered to you, however, the issue I'm finding right now is how can I ensure via postage that I will get what I'm shown and what stops me from being burned like that?

I don't know of any kind of escort service that checks a package before it's lifted from someone.

Does anyone have an advice on the matter?

Z1 have an escrow service you could use.

Also, check out the persons history and feedback, if they've only been a member for a short time, have relatively few postings and very little feedback, they are a higher risk than an established forum member who wouldn't want their rep damaged.

Despite being a new-ish member with low post count and generally small feedback, I agree with this sentiment. Some people join ZeroIn just to sell their stuff or find good deals on other people's gear, while others (like myself) prefer to watch the conversations unfold but don't necessarily want to get involved ourselves. We are not necessarily the high-risk members that emergencychimp is talking about, but we are unfortunately stuck in the same category as the minority who are here to take your money and run.

I have found that potential scammers often cannot hold a decent conversation via PM when you start to ask technical questions about their product, and that one should always be wary of people saying they are selling for a friend. If they really are, you should ask to be put into contact with said friend directly to negotiate the deal.

Ultimately though, the only way to ensure you're not going to get ripped off in my opinion is a face-to-face trade. It's not always the best or most convenient option, but it ensures that people know what they are getting and are satisfied with it before they hand over their hard-earned cash or other goodies.

          Re: Secure Classified Swapping

Ive done many swaps over the years Ive been here, by simply putting my gun in the post and trusting them to do theirs on the same day. Thankfully never got burned. Which considering how many scammers there are out there now is damn lucky, and I probably wouldnt do it anymore unless its with a very well known member.

Obviously face to face is the safest way. Though not always possible.

My go-to method now is either myself and the other party split the cost of the Z1 escrow service, or they send me their half of the trade first. Some people are ok with that, others arent. I assume the ones who arent are either overly paranoid or scammers.

The way I see it, if youre offering me a trade for my gun - your gun is the payment for mine. I wont send my gun til Ive received payment and happy with it, no different from a cash sale. You wouldnt send your gun before getting cash for it, so why would I send my gun without getting the trade "payment" first as well?

Something always worth doing, in these days of scammers galore, is to not only check the other guys feedback, but check the people he's dealt with's feedback too, and if all's well, then's the time to go ahead..
"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.

Feedbacks on everyones page once you click on their name. Other option is you pay them for their gun (say £300 on PayPal), and they do the same for your gun. Then if theres any issues you can raise a PayPal dispute.... (Paypal say they won't cover sales of airsoft but they have done in the past)
