I have a pair of Binatone Terrain 550s, if I remember right they cost £40 for a pair plus charging station from Maplins. Good solid performers and decent range too, states on the box 10 mile range (obviously thats measured over open terrain), never had the chance to go that far but they work nicely at all the larger woodland sites Ive played at. If Im more than 10 miles away from my team something has gone very wrong :P

They also work with xbox 360 live headsets which is perfect as theyre so cheap you wont care if they get broken or shot off :P

          I'm another fan of Baofeng.

I particularly like having 2 channels as presets and being able to flick between A and B. It's a useful feature at some games. Also, aside from the preset, you can manually tune them if you need to speak with others on "channel only" radios.
Away from UK until June / July. Happy to still buy but sales will be harder due to not being home.

          Wanted:
          VFC 416c, 416d, 417 GBBR
          VFC 416c, 416d AEG

We use the Baofeng UV5R with a UK business licence (£75 for 5 years); excellent radios with good range and the ability to switch quickly between channels.

Yeah Baofeng all the way, crazy range and reception, I once picked up a motorcycle driving (riding?) lesson on a road about a km away while room clearing, slightly dissorientating being told to take the 3rd exit and watch my blind spots XD

And if you want one up the ladder from the run of the mill kit the Intek 5050 is a superb hand-held radio for not much more than some of the lessor radios that are floating about. Remember if you go the Intek route leads and accessories need to be for 2 PIN ICOM.
