Optics on an SVD
2 June, 2017, 20:29
Recently purchased a Kings Arms SVD as I have a ropey knee and fancy getting back into sniping
My problem is which optic to go for?
I have a cheap Chinese copy of a posp which I picked up in a swap ages ago and to be honest it's terrible (build quality, wonky crosshairs etc) I'm reluctant to purchase a new one as even the cheapest is around £80
The real steel posp/pso1/lps variants are pricey with the cheapest coming in at $320 not including shipping and customs etc. ( if I bought one I know the wife would put me out)
With a SVD rail mount I can pick up a half decent scope for the same as a the crappy copies, however it just doesn't look right
Any suggestions plus pics of current setups much appreciated

Re: Optics on an SVD
Save your money and, get a real POSP. You're quite right, the chinese clones are utter, utter gash. If you look around, POSP's can go for as low as £100, if you're not bothered about the illumination working. The average used price is about £150 when they come up.
