Got an AK and an MP5. Had an M4 and been looking at G36s.

Real world, I'd probably take the G36 because of the combination of size (C or K) and 5.56mm while still being less of a blunt instrument than an AK.

Would be if I could fix the bloody leak. Took it to pieces to the fix the very slow leak and screwed something up so now it doesn't hold gas at all. I'll have to send it to someone to fix before the weekender as I haven't skirmished it with the folding stock and RIS yet.

Yep, GHK AKS-74U with Ra-Tech NPAS and hop, black python TB, shark rubber and H nub. Plus RS wood pistol grip and clone Kobra.:D:D:D:D:D

£315 for the gun with a couple of spare mags. Roughly £125 for another 5 mags. £50 for the hop and £85 for the NPAS. The TB, rubber and nub came from here and cost me about £40 in total. The RS grip is for an AK47, cost about £25 from Russia and took about an hour with the dremel to fit (it's got a steel base that needed to be cut-back a bit). The Kobra was from here as well and cost £50 (IIRC).

Bloody hell, that's nearly £700! I'd never added it all up before.

Range wasn't too bad with the standard hop and barrel. I've not had a chance to skirmish it with the upgrades as it's a 5 hour drive to my normal site and 2 1/2 to my nearest. Before the NPAS was fitted, I was hitting 350fps almost perfectly on ultra at about 5 degrees. The mags are plastic and there was no noticeable sign of cool-down even when the temperature was that low. Having said that, with only 50 rounds per mag, I was keeping it on single and banging-off 3 or 4 round bursts as the trigger response is instantaneous.

I keep meaning to take it to a friends farm to get everything set up. Last time I took it to a game, I'd just fitted the NPAS and hadn't adjusted it yet. By mistake, I ended up completely unscrewing the bolt vale instead of adjusting the NPAS. I had to use my MP5 instead that day.

If you do get one, make sure that you hold the body of the NPAS while you adjust it, or you'll screw it out of the bolt assembly like I did!
