  • Worst/Best sportsmanship encountered

Worst case of bad sportsmanship I encountered was someone rejecting the surrender rule when I was 5ft behind them by blindly spraying backwards as soon as I called for it. That's what I get for being nice. Since then I just shoot people in any situation.

Best sportsmanship was (bizarrely) at UA. I was walking through the second floor of a building with just my support gunner (I was sniping), and saw three members of the opposing team about to enter the building. They were within the MED as I was directly above them so I pulled out the 1911, and fired. It misfired on the second shot but made a loud noise. All 3 of them took the hit, acknowledging that they had no cover and I had the drop on them. Moments like this remind me why I love airsoft.

    What about anyone else?

i flanked everyone and got within 5 feet of 3 of them also, didnt want to shoot them at that range, one of them saw me and told him to take his hit and he did, i told him to tell his mate and his mate also took the hit, the other one was walking towards me and i told him to take his hit, he said yeah then decided to shoot me full auto right in the inside thigh about 5 times, then said 'whatever im hit anyway', i normally dont get angry but that pissed me off, the rest of the afternoon his face was my target lol im pretty sure i hit him a fair few times but the entire day him and his mates were cheating and nearly got punched by another guy for not taking his obvious hits, the marshall knew what was goin on so when they didnt take thier hits, he lit them up with his systema mp5 from about 20 feet away haha

Seen several cases of admiralable sportsmanship in my time.

One thats always stuck out for me was at GZ about a year ago. There were 6 of us walking around a path near the nest when two sniper shots flew just past the guy at the the front of the group. I saw them continue on a strike a tree, but the guy who the shots had been aimed at immediately stuck his hand up and walked off. I met up with him later and explained he hadn't been hit, but he told that although he knew this, the shots came from snipers who could have probably thought they had hit him. So he took them just incase. Applause to that man

        Re: Worst/Best sportsmanship encountered

For me, my admirable level of sportsmanship was found on the opening day of EBZ (the new one in Bexley) of all places. I was advancing up the rear stairs, and I don't know if they have hessian-ed the middle off yet or not, but then you could see all the way up the stairs, and the martial's previous concerns of shots going under goggles/up nostrils were still hovering on my mind.

On the way, I saw a guy on the next flight of stairs, talking to his team, meaning that he did not see me or my team. I could only see his face and may as well have been directly underneath him, so held the shot, had sights trained on him and started moving around to get a safer angle. As I was doing this he looked down, saw me and jumped back against the wall, out of view. Bare in mind that the distance between us was quite substantial though, say 10'-15'.

I shouted 'I had the shot but its your call, mate' and to my surprise he agreed and walked off. Later that game we passed one another (I was dead, he just respawned) and thanked each other for just doing the decent thing.

        Made me happy that day.

me and anothr forum member peared round a wall at UA yesturday to find two Opfor's in cover firing to our left, so we picked one each and fired a burst, direct hits and they ignored it, so we fired a longer burst, still ignored......... changed mag, emptied a full mag at them, then they look round to see where it came from saw us then grudgingly called hit.....

This was at Bristol Urban courtrooms. It was my first time playing at thus venue and was generally being careful as it was easy to be flanked, I was on a raised platform watching a door, I heard something behind me so stood and looked over the ledge to see two guys stacking up just below me, so I me using akimbo pistols put one on each guys crown and said "take it" one guy immidately said ok, his other mate flung up his
gun and full auto'd me in the face. Luckily I was wearing a army of two mask, I just grunted, held fire and before I knew it had a Marshall whisking him away for a word. best and worst in one.

My worst luckily didnt apply to me, but at the mall, we had just had the rather long safety brief, and the talk about calling a marshal calmly if someones not taking hits, rather than just shouting at each other. First game, within 20 minutes of the safety brief, I walk alongside a player yelling at the top of his voice "Take you hits! Take your hits! Take your hits you cheating bastard!" This happened the first time I went there as well, might have even been the same player. They both looked very similar!

I try to forget the bad times.

But a resent good sportsman award goes to a member of Bristol Recon during Op Black Diamond. This guy made a rush to plant his IED on the Abbot my mate and I were defending. I was reloading so my mate hosed him with a badly seated mag. EVEN though my mate was dry firing and not 1 BB was fired this guy took his "hit" even though the tank was a team objective

                    Best:

Dragon Valley a couple of years ago. One guy came out of the ferns and took out about 7 guys and then disapeared back into the ferns before they had all had a chance to call their hits. Every one called them, even though the player who had shot them wasn´t looking at them and didn´t hang around to make sure.

                    Worst; Toss up between two:

                    1) Dragon Valley again. 3 rentals who were not taking their hits and then laced someone-up for about 5 seconds, from less than 10m, and when chalenged about it shouted "we´re just making sure". Unluckily for them, a marshal saw it and after something like "you don´t f***ing well make f***ing sure" dragged them all back to the safe zone for a thorough attitude adjustment.

                    2) Last years weekender. I saw movement in the bushes to my side about 5m away and fired once with my gas shotty. At that range I clearly heard the hits on clothing. The player moved backwards, without calling the hit, so I put another shot into him. He stood up and started walking round the bush, again without saying anything, so I moved and hit him a third time. This time he came up with something like "I´m dead for f***´s sake". At which point I replied that he should have called the first hit, then I wouldn´t have shot him twice more. In hindsight, I wish I´d aimed for somewhere more painful on him as I´ve since found out he has a reputation for this there. Oh well, that´s 15 BBs at 300+ fps!

Best play : me and a freind were guarding a building by our selves at asylum, when a nade drops in the door, i run to another room and my mate hides in a closet. we hear ''i think they have gone'' 4-5 blokes come in the door as my mate kicks open teh closet door with his deagle in hand and bang kills almost all of them. one didnt take his bang kill and walked through a door to get shot by me waiting in the shadows. safe to say they all needed a change of undys :p

Worst play : at phoenix i shot a younger player and i contiuned to move up the flank of our objective. at whick point the dead player starts to shout to his mates where i was. at the same point his team medic ran up to him grabed him and pulled him into a trench their base all the time whilst being hit by my bbs, was not happy about that. but alot of people saw it and him and his mates were asked to leave after.
                      Bust a move.

                          Re: Worst/Best sportsmanship encountered

I've had my fair share of bad sportmanship over the years but none of them were significant enough to be the worst.

Best I've seen was just after I got the DSR, running on 0.4s. I saw a guy through my scope run quickly behind a barricade so I decided I'd try for the shot. He poked his head up, I fired. The BB went over his head and hit the tree behind him, making a satisfying "THUMP". On hearing this, he quickly raised his hand and called out hit. He must have been about 60-70m away so clearly I have the scare factor :D

There have been a few bad ones, last I can really remember was at Xsite last weekend
One of the kids was escorting one of my team back to the holding area and I popped up from the side of the path about 5m away from him, hit him dead on with a burst and he didn't call it. Hit him with another burst right in the chest and he just ran round the other side of my team mate and ran off with the prisoner.

Lots of good ones though, such as a member of the enemy team lending me a (bloody expensive) M4 when mine packed up on me

I had a bit of both at a CQB site, i wouldnt say i was bad, just cheeky

Both me and one enemy came round a corner at each other, i grabbed hit rifle and pushed it to the side, and jabbed my pistol into his stomach saying "take your hit"

He started saying i shouted first etc, I pointed out even if he fired i would have not been hit, after debating i suggested we both walk away and go into next room and start again, He agreed. So as he went into next room we both shouted game on, so i just rolled a BFG in room and said "TAKE THAT HIT" lol
