    Re: PLA Loadout

Well, the obvious answer is because illegal clone production of most military equipment takes place in China, because of the non-existent enforcement of foreign patent rights there. Asking a Chinese company in China to make illegal copies of Chinese military uniforms (which are already made in China) at their factory in China is what's known as 'tempting Fate' or 'asking to be sentenced to internment in a re-education-through-labour camp'.

The other obvious answer is that reproductions are an answer to market demand for things that are expensive or unavailable. The PLA's uniforms, as before, are already made in their literal billions at the lowest possible cost in a country with the lowest possible overheads; these things probably couldn't be made any cheaper if you tried. If you want some of this kit, you buy the real thing, because it's cheap and (relatively) readily available; if I can generalise a bit the PRC is traditionally pretty open to selling military equipment to whoever wants it.
