Marushin X Cartridge vs old system, any benefits?

Hi all

Been looking at some Marushin revolvers. Yea I know performance isn't great yada yada yada. I was wondering though is there any performance difference or improvement/part of them thats worse between the older models and the new x cartridge models? IE is one better than the other or did they literally just change the look of the shells and position of the bb in the shell?
