TM MP5 compatible metal body?
20 February, 2012, 21:50
I was torn between posting this thread in this section or in the tech help, but felt this was a safer route, if i'm wrong I apologise in advance.
I'm currently set on getting myself an mp5, and specifically heading towards a Marui A4 as from what i've heard of them they are the most reliable, easy to work on and have a good standard of performance stock. The only issue being the plastic body, but I figure i'd rather have good internals and replace the receiver than have to spend a fortune on just getting it to shoot straight.
Does anybody know of a TM compatible metal body, and where I can get one? I'm hoping I can just get an aftermarket body rather than have to buy a whole new gun just for the sake of the metal externals, although if that was the case i'd look for a preowned and maybe faulty one on the forums.
Any advice or information would be great thanks

Get a CA B&T MP5... They out perform the TM MP5 and are full metal....
TM style MP5 hop units are good but are crap for keeping their adjustments...
Metal body wise , old school CA bodies will fit and JG I think thats its.

Re: TM MP5 compatible metal body?
As scott said get the classic army b&t mp5, the body is amazing and the hop unit is an ak style unit and works great. I personaly have a tokyo marui mp5 with an aftermarket classic army b&t body but if i were to do it again i'd just buy the classic army mp5.

Re: TM MP5 compatible metal body?
I got a second hand CA B&T, there is a plastic part on the receiver where the pin for the stock goes. It have broken of at mine. I heard some other brands this part is metal (even thou it wasnt on my metal CYMA either), which sounds like a good idea...
my toygun is better than your toygun

Sorry for the hijack, but i've got a similar question. How dissimilar are mp5 and mp5k uppers? I've got marui mp5k that needs a new receiver, but cant find any metal replacements anywhere!
Buy my stuff!

They are completely different but CA , CYMA , Galaxy and TM uppers will fit .Galaxy and TM uppers are plastic though.

Re: TM MP5 compatible metal body?
As this is already a good source of info for mp5 users/techs, i've got a couple of questions regarding these (poorly designed) aegs:
Will a classic army B&T metal body fit on an ICS mp5 where everything else is ICS?
Secondly are there any MP5s (other than the mp5ks) that dont use the stupid two tabs to take the weight of the ENTIRE front end? As that's what's gone on the gun ive got in front of me.

Re: TM MP5 compatible metal body?
i will just go hands down and say no on the ICS fitting front. Even if they were designed to fit, it would still take some modding, as thats just a perk of owning an ics gun (and i lovvvve them).
Now ive only worked on B&T mp5s, and their front ends are a socket type design, in which the front upper section plugs into the upper receiver and is held in place by screws.
