M14 Advice: Upgraded Cyma M14 SOCOM vs. Stock G&G GR14

I'm looking to get an M14 but I'm not sure what to get: the Cyma M14 SOCOM or the G&G GR14. I want to run the gun with mid-caps

My thoughts so far: I'd prefer the longer barrel and the out-of-the-box performance of the GR14, but I really don't like the fact that I have to use G&G's proprietary mid-mags, which have half the capacity of G&P's mid caps and cost £5 more per mag.

The Cyma is cheaper and is compatible with more mags, but the internals aren't as good. If I was to get the Cyma, I would upgrade the inner barrel and hop rubber to improve its accuracy and range.

I'm not really sure what the best course of action would be. What do you guys think?
