    Re: RMP Close Protection Loadout

Gorilla is right, it is just the police element that do cp, not RAF regt (though they want to) and the course is open to make and females though it is very tough with a high level of fitness required.
However, for the RAFP, unless you get to TPW and are on the CP Trg flt, it isn't a full time job. You pass the course and effectively get put on the CP books. Then go off and do your day job. Then, when it is your turn for a det, and if there is a space, you get selected.

When i left there was talk of opening up the course to all arms personnel, as it still stands the only people who can do the CP course are male/ female RMP, RAF Police, RN Regulators, RM Police Troop and various foreign forces who pay extortionate amounts of money to attend the course.

In the Army the only people who do it are the RMP's, but RM's and RAF Reg and Police get to do it as well if memory serves.

I worked in the same place as the RMP CP team for the British ambassador to Iraq. Around 2005.
I didn't really scrutinise their kit but I know for sure they used HK53. Not sure what else, Could have been Glock 17 but couldn't say for sure. I think they carried a Minimi in the back of the vehicles too.

It could very well be one of the maroon shirts worn by the 16th air assault well if your going of what the rest of them have stuck to their arms it could be possible
