  • Reinvigorating my ICS M4

    Afternoon Legends,

    I've got an ICS M4 that's at least 18 years old from back when I used to airsoft regularly (the glory days).

    My younger brother has started going to GZ and I'm thinking about jumping in for a game or two but I don't particularly want to a) Buy a brand new gun or b) use a rental.

    What can I do internals wise to bring this thing back to it's glory days? I need to find a charger to see if it's even working but I'll assume not given the amount of time that's passed.

    What I'm working with;
    • ICS M4 with Z1 upgrade to FPS at time of purchase
    • retractable rear stock with small batteries in foregrip.
    • Daniel Defence OMEGA X 9.0 RIS foregrip (which doesn't fit properly and is wedged in place with electrical tape)
    • cheap fake LLM which I was attempting to get a large battery in
    • There is a LOT of play in the barrel.

    Any thoughts/tips would be appreciated.

    Mitch

    ICS m4s are solid guns there's no reason why it won't still work, just get a 7.4 lipo, with at least 35 amps, and a charger, maybe get a new hop rubber, clean the inner barrel, a bottle of new .25 bbs, and check the fuse.

      As said, a clean up, fresh rubber and a decent battery will breathe life back into it.
      Those glory days of airsoft are sadly behind us, but there is no reason that the ICS can’t be made to keep up with the field with little changes.

      Being the split gearbox you will be able to clean up the compression parts and hop in no time.
