vsr PSS10 Blue cushions?

hi people,
i've got a TM VSR G-Spec and just wondered do the cushions actually make any difference in quietness and how do they actually fit on, do they just stick to the bottom of the cylinder head? or can you remove the old one of the dampened cylinder head and replace it with the new one?
