GBB or EBB?

Hi all, well o keep wanting more realism in my Airsofting, I currently shoot a modded G&G TopTech/Noveske/Magpul M4 with their pneumatic blowback which I think is great for looks but I still want more and more realism. I want a gun that shoots and works as a real steel one ie load it cock it shoot it, locks back on empty etc and something that has recoil.
I know TM have their recoil series rifles now and they appear great, but maybe out of my current budget.
So, what do you guys thing about GBB? Works as a real steel and has the recoil too. It's the using them all year round I'm trying to get my head round, I know they can suffer in the cold but what about on propane or even Co2?
I can pick one "relatively" cheap, running cost will be more I suppose too.

I need as much knowledgable info as I can get.
Help please gents, I'm very confused.
