Some of you guys may have seen magpul showing it off at a convention last year, the model they showed had a torch on the top so it looked like one of those hand held jobbies you take out at night. The rep. for magpul claimed it was ideal when "talking out your garbage and need a quick form of defence"...the only person who needs that is Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino!

All the same tis pretty nifty now

Better theory than Magpul, they're saying it would be a dog walker's weapon of choice....

There's only one problem I can see. There is a new EU law which came into effect this month which controls the import of any unlicensed fakes, counterfeits and copies. It's designed to deal with things like watches and handbags etc, but I can see customs applying it to guns if they get a chance.

Basically, anyone caught bringing in something that is an unlicensed copy will have it confiscated and destroyed, plus the fine is upto the value of the goods which the copy is based on.

Unlicensed gun copy: £500-£1000 fine. Unlicensed Rolex: £1000 - £25000 fine!

Probably. It's the design of the gun, as much as the trades, which the manufacturers own the rights to.

Probably will take a court case and some appeals to find the final answer though.

This has already made me think twice about a "replica" watch I fancied buying. My wife bought what may well have been a fake CK watch and, in the process of looking into this, I found a site that sells high quality Omega copies for about $250. The idea of losing that much, plus getting fined another £1700 killed that idea stone cold.

Didn't put me off the HK Aimpoint clone though!
