Tokyo Marui Series 70 Nickel Finish:
Well with me claiming this as one of, if not, TMs best pistols I shall give you a short review and pictures to show why. Donít expect much of this review as I am writing this during my busy work schedule. I mean come on Doom wonít play itself.

    Unboxing:

Looks sexy and shiny right? Well there you have it, the box it comes in. It does have a rather ĎPokemon shiny cardí look and feel to it with a good idea of what is inside (if you think it contains a snow cone machine you are an idiot):

And after that we have the contents, yes I know a magazine is included and the grips are from a Night Warrior but one is sold and the other to my eyes looks better so there. And yes that is a soft felt that the gun rests upon:

It is a truly amazing sight when you open it; the light glinting off it is enough to make you start dreaming of buying a purple leopard print jacket with fur lining and a white and gold low riding muscle car.

    Feel and all that Jazz:

It looks and feels amazing. The finish feels sleek to the touch and it has a mirror finish that means you can check out how much of an ugly sod you are with each pull of the trigger:

Drawing it alone is enough to dazzle and the finish extends to all external parts of the main body with the controls being a near as possible match but a bit less sparkly and mirror like:

    Shooting:

Like any other TM, snappy. To be honest if you havenít shot a TM 1911 go and do it, the feeling of it clacking away in your hands is lovely. Havenít a chrono or anything to test but expect typical GBB performance. The shots easily penetrate to the same depth as my other full size 1911s:

    Internals:

Well they look good with the trigger grouping in bare metal and the BBU and nozzle in typical dark grey. Both fit as expected and feel nice. Nothing is really out of place and it sports a typical TM hop unit so nothing different at all.

    Frame:

    Slide:

Oh look it has a Hop Unit, what a surprise:

    Anything else:

Not really, it is a nice pistol, one that begs to be kept in a case but then if you did that you couldnít pose with it thinking you are on the set of Miami Vice, not like I do at all. Either way if you donít have one get one, if you donít like 1911s well then donít get one but donít come crying to me that TM donít do this finish on other pistols.

This pistol was bought from Mike at Elite Shooting Centre for the handsome sum of £165 + £10p&p. The first one, true to Royal Mail form didnít show up but the replacement was sent the next day and I had no issues with getting that one. Just thought this deserved mentioning as Mike was a legend about resolving this.

    Finally some more gun porn:

She does look nice. Bit she deserves the original grips, or some dark rose wood ones!

Just can't get on with the originals myself.

Though I do plan on giving some black controls and that means the grips to match too.

Like all TM guns, very good. In fact I get more shots out of this (1-2) than my older MEU / NW hybrid.
