Rewiring Sopmod

Hi, just bought a Sopmod and it has the lipo conversion done already but I am wanting to change the stock which means removing the bar and contact assembly from the Sopmod. Would soldering straight on to the ends of the wires that are soldered to the contacts be ok? Then I can run the wires through into the new stock.
