7.4v or 11.1
8 January, 2019, 21:21
Right here is a noob question but here I go. I've recently upgraded my aeg with a titan mosfet, I mainly got the mosfet to increase the life span of the trigger fuse but thought I'd go all out as it sounded fun! My question is should I stick with the 7.4vbattery that g&p reccomends on the box or will I be able to switch to 11.1 to get the full potential out of the mosfet every now and again?

A more powerful battery would/could stress out the electrics and or the mechanical parts, you have sorted out the electrical side of things by adding the titan, but you've done nothing to the gearbox, a common problem you would get from speeding things up would be premature engagement, the sector gear picks up the piston in the wrong place before the piston has returned to its starting position ,this will strip the piston or wreck your gears or both, you can do four things, stick with the 7.4 lipo, upgrade the internals and use 11.1, don't upgrade the internals and run with the 11.1 until it breaks and then upgrade (or it might not break) or forth option use a 9.9 life battery which would give you a medium in terms of battery power

Thanks for the imput sparrowhawk I never upgraded it myself but it was a g&p deluxe so had all the gears reinforced, improved motor and I had a stronger piston head as the g&p ones are a bit naff apparently. I'll stick with the 7.4v untill I know what's what with my internals, ive never heard of the 9.9 life but could be a good stepping stone and possibly make it a bit snappier for now.

If you could find out if the AOE (angle of engagement) has been sorted, that should prevent the pre engagement and running on an 11.1 would be OK ,saying that a 7.4 lipo with a nice amount of amperage 40 plus would would be very sufficient

Thanks I've checked the average amperage and it's getting 43a semi and 19a auto I'm running a G&P 160 turbo motor so I'm guessingthat it's getting a high consume. Any ideas how I could increase the amperage?

Use a bigger capacity battery (mAh x C rating)
