WE Glock 17 - Slide travels too far back

Hi guys, in need of help.

I received a new WET Glock 17 slide to replace the stock 17 slide. When either racking the slide or shooting the pistol the slide is travelling too far back and locking into place. Once this happens I then need to place a pin or something small into the hammer area to release the slide forward again.

I’ve looked at the original slide and lower and they work well together. But the new slide looks identical in every way. Can anyone suggest a fix that can resolve the issue.
