comms help - kenwood two pin radio to one pin moto headset conversion

right, i know theres a thread running atm similar to this, but its not what im asking... also searched and couldnt turn up anything useful....

what i have i a load of radios with 2 pin kenwood terminals.... all my freinds seem to have lost or ruined their headsets... so we have been looking at buying more, some of the guys alreasy have existing headsets for different/ past used radios, these all seem to be motorola single pin type headsets...

i've had a look at them, and after visiting maplins, i have some connectors, i have worked out which is the speaker, which is the mic, but cant seem to get the PTT to function...

can someone tell me what im doing wrong? and tell me how i should be wiring it please?
