If your good with Maruzen l96 HELP!
20 August, 2012, 02:35
Alright ,well I bought maruzen l96 as I heard they were good on the market. I bought a new trigger box, spring and all...
My question is , how do I replace the spring currently in the cylinder?
I just realised that the cylinder head is sealed! is there a way of un-sealing it?
I anybody could help out it would be much appreciated

If its anything like the VSR one you have to drill it out.

Re: If your good with Maruzen l96 HELP!
The maruzen cylinder is not sealed....It screws off,it may be quite hard to remove the first few times though, best thing to do is either use the proper tool or make one.
Its easy enough to do just need a bar of metal with two rivets that fit the holes on the cylinder head and tap them into the metal bar the same distance apart as the holes on the cylinder head. Then drill a hole for the nozzle.
Failing that needle nose pliers will work

The earlier Maruzen cylinders were sealed! Theyw ere crimped on just like the bolt handle end.
He'll need a new cylinder and cylinder head.

Don't know where you go one from like that.
I had one pre ordered in HK and imported to the uk straight away on release about 8 years ago. Making it probably the first one in the uk and it wasn't crimped.
Only ever seen ACM cylinders crimped at both ends.

Laylax do a tool for the APS-2 guns. I don't know if the Type 96 is the same though...(probably not because it uses a feeding ramp.)

The Maruzen l96 doesn't use a feeding ramp like the TM.
90% of the aps parts fit the l96 swell, the main part that isn't comp able is the cylinder due to the bolt handle.

Maruzen L96 Cylinders are threaded not crimped.
The APS cylinder tool will work on the L96 Cylinders.
If the cylinder head is stuck, then maybe its threadlocked or glued - run it under the hot-water tap for a minute or so, then use needle nosed pliers (gently) to undo it.
