very tecky sniper rifle question
22 October, 2012, 16:59
firstly i'll start with what i have and what i've already done.
dboys k98 springer
vsr hop unit and pdi hop rubber
black python 6.03 barrel
pdi l96 130 13mm spring
vsr magazine fed
extended fake shell including vsr nozzle.
now this is for ww2 airsoft and not going to be a sniper rifle but up to 350 fps,so far i'm getting around 310-320 fps ,ive stoked the bolt so it gets an extra 4mm piston travel by making up a shorter piston but still feel that its being held up by insufficient volume in the cylinder for the length of barrel so that the bb is suffering drag before it leaves the barrel.
my question is ,if i was to make up a piston with a valve in the face if the head that would open with the inertia of the piston hitting the cylinder head in order to release any back pressure (vacuum) on the bb ,would it improve matters?
im only looking for another 20fps so no great leap but would rather not up the spring to get it,any other suggestions welcome but assume i've done all i can on air seals.
