marui tight barrel + new hop?

hi all - I have just seen a new marui tight barrel + new hop unit on sale.

Anyone got one? the barrel is a 6.04mm

looks pretty good for £45

what do you chaps think?

Do TM even make tighbores?! 6.04 isn't that tight really, usually they 6.03 and below!

had a 6.04 on my old m14 and had no complaints.

i would say its worth the money,depening on how old the vsr is,the newest models have it standard from what ive read.
i fitted one to my g-spec,the hopunit is made to slightly better tollerances and the barrel gives good results,that much so for me that i changed back to it from a pdi 6.01 as i found i got better results.

Would agree with Pete (?) there mate, the Hop unit is generally considered better, but then saying that all Marui hop units are all better made these days since the productions about 2 years ago - although I'm not sure that they are quite as well made.

Not really sure about the barrel, I wouldn't generally class it as a tight bore, but then again many swear by the 6.05...

Yes it comes with a Hop up arm

The only thing I would say though, is that the Marui arms have two prongs to apply pressure to the hop rather than a solid piece, such as the JG hop arms or custom acrylic arms.

The two prongs aren't great and apply uneven pressure generally and are underpowered at high fps. Get a different arm or mod it, perhaps with a piece of biro pen

I know i've modded mine by sanding the prong bits. But think i may have sanded to much:\. How would you go about doing the biro mod with the vsr hop unit? Wouldn't it apply way to much hop and even some when you have it turned all the way down? Been wanting a nickswimfast one but hear he's stopped manufacturing them now

I need a decent barrel in my vsr.
