FPS all over the place :(
18 August, 2010, 18:38
Hello all,
Just fitted a 170 spring into my maruzen l96 today (teflon cylinder with first factory piston and laylax spring guide).
I think i replaced a 150 spring by the looks of it,
Any ways the FPS seems to be quite unconsistent, before i managed to get a consisten 449.9 fps on every shot with the old spring, now with the new 170 laylax spring i get an fps reading from 464 to 490, but average is about 472.....
Whats the issue with my gun ? and how can i make it consistent againt but without reverting to the old spring?

Re: FPS all over the place
Try turning the spring around you may have the tight coils to the top instead of bottom. If your spring is the wrong way round your fps will be very inconsistant.
This Post may contain my opinions and if you disagree with them Tough S**T!

also as it's a new spring it will take a bit of time before it wears in and becomes consistent

Re: FPS all over the place
ok so i went and swapped the spring arround today (there is no "more compressed end" to the spring)
and it made a bit of an improvement, shots are more cinsistent but still alter all over the place fro m time to time....
so all it is now is the spring still needs breaking in?
ive put about 50 bb's through this spring so far
