Hmm I had thought they gutted RS bodies and converted them to airsoft. That was what the person who owns one told me at my last game. And it was definitely the most realistic AK I had ever held!

Another example is SRC MP5s They're stamped and welded steel.
Their G36 receivers are a nylon fibre material very similar to, if not the same as, the material HK uses.
Manufacturers have learned there's an increasing market for "realistic" construction, and are filling it.
