And i need a spring by the weekend.
a m90 spring is needed, but can i just buy any m90? Or is there a specific spring type needed?

I was looking at dropping a mauser l96, from stock down to below 350. (pdi hopup + tbb installed)
Will a m90 do the trick?

m90 will work perfectly. around 300-320fps... an m100 will give you 350ish... however an m100 in my M4 gives me 328fps spot on.

WHAT THE HELL are you two on about,
M90's are AEG springs, not bolt action springs, they are completely different performance and tolarence wise,
for the l96 base rifle, look on the HUGE l96 type sniper rifle thread on the tech section sub board, this will give you alot of info,
for lower then 400 fps the ps96 120 will work
