  • Terrible range + accuracy.

Hi guys, upgraded my l96, with the following:

509MM madbull tight bore, pdi hopup with soft rubber + sp100 spring.

The accuracy seems to be really odd. The bb flies off to the side a lot, Ive adjusted the hopup equally and still no improvements.

The range isn't too good either. It was a lot better when the gun was firing at 400/420fps.

    (using .30's)

    Chrono with .20's @ 305fps.

    Help would be brilliant!

Maybe the barrel isnt in the hop central? Also 305fps isnt going to push a .3 much further than 40M.
Is there a reason why you downgraded?

Site only allows 350 For snipers.
        Pathetic isnt it?

It is mainly open area too.

Apparently someone complained that it was unfair.

Lol, by the time i shoot one bb, they'd have what 20 flying at me.

Would a sp110 spring be better?

          Re: Terrible range + accuracy.

i thought sp100 springs took you to 330-350fps...

Maybe a HARD hop rubber will work better for range? I use a Guarder 70Hardness Hop rubber... awesome range improvement Vs. an old TM hop rubber.

I agree with a twisted barrel... often easy to do.

A harder hop rubber shouldn't make it better due to low fps.

Personally, i would rather sell up and get a decent AEG as even with a nicely setup hop, i think at that fps your going to be marginly out ranging an average AEG (verry marginly).

I would, but i just love the realism of the single shot, and needing to cock the gun. Ive tried sniping with someones highly upgraded m4, but despite that he had spent in the region of £500 to make it a decent sniper, i still preferred the bolt action's.

Whats the site limit for AEGs then? If its also 350 then thats unfair.

Ok id try .28s and site gun in to about 30-40M I take it you wont have a min engagement then?
If still curling off every shot it may be either wind which cant be helped as heavier bb needs more fps to push it

Yes the site limit is 350 for all guns @.20.

Still, bolt actions should be entitled to fire @400fps since you'r not going to be going to rush the enemy or "spray" them down. To add, most snipers use heavy bb's .30+ And that decreases the fps. (if i already have not said that. Too lazy to read above posts)

But the common thing people dont realize is the heavier bb hits harder although traveling slower (fps) Thats why we chrono on .2s

Yup, energy is still the same (well roughly). Rather get hit by a .20 doing 350fps than a .30 doing 350fps.
