Why does my TM VSR-10 not cock back properly
14 December, 2011, 17:27
Basically this is a brand new TM VSR-10, i tried to use it for the first time on Sat, all i have done to it is change the spring from a standard tm one to a Laylax one thats giving about 330fps. Nothing else has been changed.
I have to make sure i cock it back carefully otherwise it does not lock back in position, the 2 videos below should demonstate the problem hopefully, just wondering what could be causing this.

I am willing to bet you are missing a cylider ring, It is a small plastic ring that goes on the reciver that holds the cylinder. Infact I may have one laying around here if you need it.

Re: Why does my TM VSR-10 not cock back properly
i had a similiar problem on my bar10 (jing gong)when i changed the spring in it,but it was caused by the sears wearing and the trigger one (the frame bit not the one to hold the piston) wasnt going back down properly, but mine went overtime,it wasnt on a new one and the tm version could be different ( though im told its exactly the same inside just better quality)
so i think it may be too much pressure on one of the sears, maybe go back to the weaker spring and if the problem stops with the weaker one then it could be the (trigger) sear.
by the way...im no proffesional diagnoser type person, this is just what happend to mine.

nope just checked that, its still in place, i just have to push the cocking handle dead straight and its fine, any variance and it catches on something.

Re: Why does my TM VSR-10 not cock back properly
It does look like the teflon rings that go on the receiver, 2 in total, one at the front and one at the back, seem to be either out of place slightly or missing. They do help to keep the bolt from going in straight and true rather than misaligning, if you could take some pictures of the receiver, that would be great. Might help prove this true or not. If it is those rings, just poke em back into place (right up against the wall for it) or if they aren't there grab Orions'.
