Contemporary British Loadout
28 January, 2012, 17:02
So here's a loadout that me and my friend "Saoul" have been working on. We're looking to hopefully start a modern British re-enactment based team.
Here are our loadouts so far. I'm the guy at the back. Of course there are still some things that need to be purchased/worked on, but let us know what you think.
Gear to purchase:
1. Bowman Headsets with PTT's and radios.
2. MTP ubacs for Saoul.
3. NVG mounts for helmets.
Guns parts to purchase:
1. L85 ris
2. L129A1 Acog and foregrip etc.
Let us know what you think. We'll keep you posted as we update the loadouts.
Also, we're not in the armed forces and would never claim to be, we just like the British kit!
So please keep it on topic guys

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
The L85 would also be more accurate with the LLM 01, E mags, gripod and new flashhider as well. The L129 also needs a flashhider i believe. An elcan spectre DR sight might make a passable substitute until someone releases the corecct acog. Get a CAT for the UBAC's sleeve pocket too. But not looking too bad. Its the little finishing touches that make an authentic UK loadout look the part.
Current armoury
ICS L86 A2 LSW - CYMA AIM's - C.A. MP5 A3 - C.A. HK 33 K - J.G. G36 KSK - G&P L119 A1 - C.A. HK 53 - STAR FNC Para -CYMA Galil SAR - Real sword Type 56 - T.M. Sig P226 - KSC USP Compact - KSC HK USP 45 - KSC Glock 19 -

Hi yeah, I know we're missing a lot of the bits from the guns. I know what parts we need, it's just a matter of getting together enough money to buy them! But we were ideally looking for feedback on the gear, not so much the rifles.
Also, what is this CAT for the UBACS that you speak of? (I've seen some soldiers with clips on their sleeves, but wasn't sure what they were, are those the CAT's?)

It's just a standard SR-25 base at the moment since it's not possible to get the "monolithic?" style receiver for airsoft guns yet.

get rid of the black tape around the MK6's and get the either sniper tape round it, or the inner tire, NBC boot thing. one other thing to do with the Mk6's, get rid of the elastic on the cover. Get some ESS ICE glasses, only £20 - £30 on some sites. possibly a bowman headset but that'd be up to you if you wanted it. and get saoul to change out the black boots for tan coloured ones. that's all I can spot really. definitely get rid of the electrical tape on the Mk6's though.

CAT is a tourniquet mate. I think some dessert boots would be needed aswell as i havn't seen mtp worn with black boots.

I've got ESS Ice 2.4's already
Saoul is looking to buy some too, and dessie boots. As for the helmets, I agree..the black electrical tape is too shiny and somewhat messy-looking. I'm gonna look into getting some green sniper tape for 'em.

Just used red permanent marker over the white selector marking!
Looks fine and seems durable!

All the guys in and around Dalton Barracks aswell as Bicester wear black boots. Its all upto your RSM/CO at the end of the day. Some units can wear desert boots, but most others cant.

Thanks for the feedback, chaps.
We do need to get some green tape for the Mk6s, but as money is tight right now we can't really justify it as the black tape works fine for now.
I'm going to get some desert boots in the future, when I can afford them, but the MTP UBACS is top of the list at the mo'.

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
For good desert boots on a budget, Magnums are excellent. Mine were £30.... 2nd hand but unworn.
If you really want to go for it, I'd say be brave with the weapons & kit and give it all a good dusting with Sand Krylon - get that "used" look!
