ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
11 August, 2009, 15:00
ok, i thought i'd post this up as i see alot of people are interested in doing ww2 loadouts now, i post this up as help for people who are looking into this
us airborne are in films like band of brothers ( series i know )
and infantry are films like saving private ryan, kellys heroes, longest day ( also has airborne )
but anyway onto the kit ;;;;
if your going to do it, you might aswell do it right.
airborne :
for the operation overlord: using a thompson, folding stock carbine;
corcoran jump boots
m42 jump suit
M1C para helmet with hessian
M36 suspenders,
waterbottle and mug,
1st aid pouch,
Musette bag,
pistol belt and
2 x large rigger pouches
for an m1 garand or BAR you replace the web belt for either a garand belt or BAR belt, also for m1 carbine replace large rigger pouches for 2X m1 carbine pouches.
for operation market garde and after, so holland, belgium, germany and eagles nest
m43 jump suit
m1c para helmet no hessian
all of the webbing the same apart from it has to be '44 dated,
buckle boots
for infantry you will need
m1 helmet with netting
m41 jacket
HBT trousers
roughout boots
UA infantry gaiters
either same webbing as above without the mussette bag but have a haversack
or assualt vest and get an e-tool for the back and load up with the applicable
and for both you'll need the para first aid kit.
guns for airborne
m1919A4 .30 callibre browning light machine gun
thompson
folding stock m1 carbine
b.a.r.
m1 garand
1919a1 .45 cal pistol
M3a1 Grease Gun.
any german gun aswell, as a captured weapon
for operation market garden and later you could have the m1919A6 .30 calibre browning light machine gun
infantry
m1 carbine full stock
thompson
B.A.R.
not so common but m1919A4 .30 calibre browning light machine gun
1919a1 .45 cal pistol
m1 garand
M3a1 Grease Gun
sparrowhawk

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
Good list there mate. Makes me think we should have a new section for this kind of thing. I might do one for a Vietnam era look. Others users could do one for their speciality etc.
Cheers,
Tom

Been looking at Afrika corp uniforms too. they look good. often a kind of mish mash and look good with an MP40. So bring on the advice.

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
Ok, this is a kit guide for the U.S.M.C.
Start off with weaponary:
m1 carbine full stock
thompson
B.A.R.
not so common but m1919A4 .30 calibre browning light machine gun
1919a1 .45 cal pistol
m1 garand
M3a1 Grease Gun
M1 helmet
USMC reversible helmet cover
USMC P1941 jacket and trousers
FOR NEW GEORGIA ISLAND IN 1943 use the P1942 camo jacket and trousers
Use all webbing marked with USMC, pretty much the same as airborne webbing again without mussette bag
Roughout boots
USMC gaiters
Oh and also a 48 star us flag to mount ontop of iwo jima
