RAS Fitting

Can anybody please tell me how you can fit a RAS to an M4 without using the delta ring? See loads of pics of RAS with what look like allen bolts.

Re: RAS Fitting
you have to remove the delta ring, and find a RAS or RIS kit which is designed to be srewed onto where the delter ring would normaly be.
depending on what fron set you buy, these can screw directly on, or you can screw a "custom delta ring" sort of attachment on, before securing the full RAs/RIS with different fitting (such as alan bolts)

Re: RAS Fitting
The ones you are thinking of, DD Mk18 rails being a good example, are free floating and screw onto the front thread of the receiver.
Regular KAC style RIS/RAS can't be mounted in this way, as it needs the front cap and rear delta ring to hold it in place.

Re: RAS Fitting
No idea how that would attached, and from the fact that the guys selling it couldn't mount it on his AEGs, I personally wouldn't take the chance.

Re: RAS Fitting
are you talking about the ones where the allen bolt goes in through the back and not the top in a sort of circle with about 8 bolts? if yes they are the daniel defense light rail style ones, fantastic bits of kit and once fitted solid as a rock

Re: RAS Fitting
Id also advise against that one uve looked at, ive seen alot of Free float ris systems over the years and never one with that type of mounting.
Daniel Defense IMHO are the way forward, very strong and light,
Ive got the omega version that bolts onto the delta ring as in urban spec ops picture he has there and ive also owned a few others over the years from them
