A Hello, an introduction and a point in the right direction
26 November, 2009, 14:29
Hello everyone,
My names Michael, or Mike, and I plan to join you guys in the world of airsoft pretty soon. My only other exsperiance with airsoft was about two years ago at Fallout Airsoft in Essex. It was a Zombie themed Christmas event, and was damn fun. Recently my interest has been rekindled, and I plan to head down to Skirmish Basildon as soon as I can afford the rental and entry fee.
In terms of equipment, I have webbing and a solid pair of Army Issue boots. (I was an Army Cadet for 3/4 years and in the TA for a whopping 4 months :p). For a rifle I had my eye on the FAMAS, as I love the look, and everyone seems to have an M4/16 style weapon. Also, I'm a massive Metal gear fan.

Can anyone tell me if they know of a retailer who sells this gun from within the UK. I love the Colt 1911, gotta be my favorite sidearm next to M9.
This is all after I've got my UKARA (sp?) membership of course. I don't like the thought of my guns looking like Toys R us bargin bin material.
Thanks in advance :D

You'll need to tell us what gun it is. You can't link\mention other retailers on here

Re: A Hello, an introduction and a point in the right direction
Ah, my appologise.
Well, it's listed as "Win Gun Special Combat 1911 Co2 Powered Airsoft Gas Gun".
It's an all metal C02 powered replica of the Colt 1911 .45. with gas blowback and a 16 round magazine.
Thanks again
Edit: Found one in the shop linked to this forum;
http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/erol/erol.html
Product Code: GGB-0317TM
Does anyone know if this one is GBB? If so, It may be easier than importing it from the US. Can't imagine they'd ship it by air if it had pressurised components anyway.

Yeah, it's a GBB. Personally, I'd go for the TM 1911 or MEU

Fizzy,
why would you choose the Tokyo.M or MEU versions over this one?
Also, can anyone suggest a good FAMAS?

Re: A Hello, an introduction and a point in the right direction
Sorry, not quite sure what you're saying. Personally, I prefer the TM 1911 & MEU over the WE model, even though the WE is metal and the TM isn't because it seems to have better range and accuracy, and is probably more reliable.
As for the FAMAS, that too has to be TM (although that's because you're very limited as to who produces them)

Oh, thier website still has a function to pre-book up to 5 Aks with 1 mag and 2100 BB's per Rookie day.
I think its a "1st sunday of every month" only thing though.

Re: A Hello, an introduction and a point in the right direction
Mind you, I don't really want to be limited to only the first sunday of the month til I get registered, and I don't want to buy those Garish two tone things either.
Know any sites close to Wickford that rent regularly?

I don't maybe Elites games, but to as you need to do 3 games over a 9 week period doing 3 rookie days would work out perfectly
